Mwanza — HUNDREDS of students from various higher learning institutions here showed up at Bahigi Beach Resort on the shores of Lake Victoria over the weekend for the annual Str8Muzik Festival Inter-college Special.

A number of high-riding performers from Tanzania and Kenya were in attendance to colour the night.

Kenyans Nonini and Redsun with their hit songs , ‘Kadhaa’, ‘Furahiday’, ‘Keroro’, ‘Nani Mwenza’ and ‘Wanipa Raha’, ‘Yule Pale’, ‘Leo ni Leo’ and ‘Nakutaka’ stole the show.

Redsan, who is popular among Tanzanians fans, proved he is a class of his own after sending the audience wild for most of the time he performed.

His mastery of stage made him the ’star’ of the night, so did Nonini whose 40-minute performance especially his ground shaker ‘Furahiday’ gave him a credit as one of the finest hip hop musicians of the modern times.

The local artistes, C-Pwaaa, Quick Racker, Dully Skyes alias ‘Mr Misifa’ , Joh Makini and Albert Mangwea also stole the show.

The concert aims to offer students from higher learning institutions a chance to share views and enjoy music from different performers.

It is organized by Tanzania Cigarette Company (TCC) through its Sweet Menthol(SM) brand.
